Drexel Dresser Makeovers

Today, y'all get to the pretty makeover of the Drexel Dressers!  The Drexel china cabinet reveal was yesterday, so if you missed you can read about it here.

These dressers allowed me to have a first.  I got to paint something pink!  Pink is not my favorite color, blue is, but here lately things have been painted a blue, a neutral or with a glazed finish.  I love all of those finishes but its nice to do something different every once in a while.

The client for the dressers has twin girls and needed some big storage for clothing.  These dressers are huge so they are perfect for the job.

The dressers were not in as near bad shape as the china cabinet (read about it here) so there was far less prep work on the veneer and drawers but as with all mahogany (Do y'all think about Hunger Games every time you here that word now or is it just me?), bleed throughs were bad.  Knowing the final color was really light I had to do some extra and special priming to get these guys ready for paint.  The paint color, Romantic Pink by Benjamin Moore, is beautiful on these dresser and is a perfect compliment for the brass handles.

The 12-drawer before.

The 5-drawer before.

And after!

They are so pretty.  The color choice is perfect for the dresser style and I love that the handles get to stay the original brass.

I have a few other client projects in the works that I can't wait to show you.  Some projects around my house that I am planning to do in the next week are paint/redo the elevator and fix my dining room table issue (more on that later).

Have a great day everyone!
