Halloween Chair!

I know it's late but I thought I would show you this chair I made for a miniaturist for Halloween. She sent the fabric, after a long search and I covered a chair that I copied off a full size furniture site, it was called the "Vamp Chair". She sent some small skeletons for me to "make legs from". The minute I saw them I had the idea to make "Ball and Claw" feet from the hands. My daughter thought it a bit morbid, but it works. I experimented with her skeletons and found more at Michaels that were painted so I used those. I painted 4 small beads black to put into the bony hands.
I have figured out how to put a ruffle on a pillow that looks nice. I have been trying to do that for years. I will put it into a blog project soon if you are interested.
Starting work on the project for November, talk to you all soon, Kris

New Furniture

I have finally found a chair to go with the new sofa I made. I call this set my "Manhattan Set". Now, I have never been Manhattan, but I can see this set in a penthouse apartment with lots of tall windows looking out over the city. I have the set on CDHM.org. One more piece of 1/2 scale furniture to make, I'm outa here!!

Casual Classics Easy Chair

Hello to everyone. I have finally finished a piece of furniture. Still not back up to speed, and raising a baby, too. Fidget is doing fine, he sleeps through the night and is walking on all fours, now. I will take a picture soon so all can see.

The new piece is what I am calling Casual Classics with a bit of British Colonial flavor. It's body is woven rattan and the cushions are silk painted to look like aged leather. It's over at the CDHM site. I am trying to get out more furniture, need to update!!!

The chair is setting on a rug I copied off the internet using the suede paper I bought from Dragonfly International.

Back to work! TTYL Kris

Finished another custom project

I have finally finished the custom project for the miniaturist in Nebraska. He is creating a rustic cabin retreat. It sounds very relaxing doesn't it? One of those projects you can sit in front of and dream.

New Custom Piece

This is the newest custom piece of furniture I've made. A miniaturist from Nova Scotia ordered it. I'm glad she did. It gave me a chance to work out how to make the middle cabriole leg. This is fabric she picked from my stash. Oh, my stash of fabric, I've been collecting for awhile just for mini work. I used to own a fabric store so I love fabric and can't get enough of it.

The top picture is of a cute chair for a cabin or vacation setting. The fabric is cotton with a checked design and ducks, the ducks have blue, green and tan on them. You could trim out your room in any of these colors. The chair also has an accent pillow included and is trimmed with piping from the fabric. The skirt is pleated with piping above. The back cushion is "buttoned" to add to the casual feel of the chair. The measurements for the chair are 3 1/8" tall, 3 1/2 wide and 2 1/2" deep. $15.00 plus $5.00 shipping in the U.S.A.

Here's the 1 inch scale bronze contemporary pillow back sofa trimmed with twisted embroidery floss that matches the chair in the previous posting. Included with the sofa are four accent pillows trimmed with the same floss. This fabric has a slight nubby texture and is slightly shiny. The color is called bronze, but I call it a greenish gold. If you want a sample of the fabric please contact me and I will be glad to mail you a piece. Measurements are: 3 1/8" tall, 6 3/4" wide and 3" deep. $25.00 plus $5.00 for shipping in the U.S.A.

Bronze Contemporary Wing Chair

This is a 1 inch scale contemporary wing chair. This matches a sofa that I have on CDHM.org. The fabric has a slight texture and I think it is a greenish gold.
