I realized the other day that I never posted updated pictures of the dock. Remember, I surprised Blittle for our anniversary with the boat lift he wanted. When I went to New Orleans, Blittle and a friend installed the boat lift. How exciting...I didn't have to do any work!
There are only a few things left on the to do list. We have the electricity and lights that need to be installed and a few detail things like rub rails and boat cleats. The fish cleaning table needs a little work before it is put up but we do have one. Also, I need to build a few more pieces of furniture for the seating area. Seating and furniture projects will be done when I have a break in client work.
There are many new readers and followers to blog so I am going to remind every one what we started with. A very small, sad and unsafe dock.
This is what the yard looked like when we moved in. There was a large concrete walk way to the dock. We tore it out and built a fence.
This is the view from our neighbors' house across the canal right before we built the dock.
Our sad, little dock. You can see the new pilings for the bigger dock. :)

The last update, I showed y'all the dock stained and we were waiting for the boat lift. Now we have the boat lift installed and our boat is over the water full time. I also built the Adirondack chairs for seating.
To give y'all an idea of size difference, the original dock was about 6 feet wide (into the water) and 12 feet long. The new seating area dock is 15 feet wide and 15 feet long. We extended the wood walk way the length of our yard, 50 feet, with a jut out at the boat so it is easy to step into it without falling in the water. This is a much larger dock!
Jaxson and Sabine are loving the dock too. Jaxson loves to hang his front paws off the edge and watch down the canal.
Sabine loves to obsess about the ducks.
We love the space and I am so glad we went with a dock like this instead of a boathouse. From the house, we still have a water view and I like hanging out right over the water instead of 15 ft over it like you do over the boathouse.
I plan on spending some time out there this weekend!
I hope everyone has a safe and relaxing weekend!
